Twinkie Tuesday: OMG!

I cannot contain my excitement! Last week something happened that I never imagined would happen. I literally thought the day was never going to come.
That’s right. Lilah is practically a 100% walker!
My mom & dad came over last week for dinner & to drop off our little house guest and while they were helping us give the kids their baths Lilah decided to practice her walking skills. She started going from my mom to me, me to my dad, my dad to my mom, over & over again. It was the most walking we’d seen her do on her own almost ever. Starting that next morning I made Lilah walk, walk, walk. And these videos prove it:
They literally bring tears to my eyes every single time I watch them. And let me tell you, I’ve watched them a ton…on top of watching Lilah in action as well! She is getting more balanced every day & can go longer & longer distances. We are working on getting her to initiate it herself, because as of right now she’ll only walk when one of us stand her up to do it. On occasion she’ll take off from something, like if she’s holding onto a table or couch, but not nearly as much as we’d like.
One thing I’m so excited for is Miss Rebecca to see Lilah next Tuesday, she is going to be blown away by her progress! Miss Rebecca, Lilah’s therapist, usually sees her every Tuesday but due to spring break last week & something she had this week will not see her until next week. I’m hoping if we work with her enough between now & then she’ll be 100% walking!
To think of where Lilah started (& Lexie too for that matter. That girl was the laziest of the two when in the NICU & I surely thought would crawl & walk last but totally surprised us by doing everything first) as a 29 weeker & spending the first 48 days of her life in the NICU and then on oxygen until four months old, I am so amazed by all of her accomplishments!
I leave you with one last sweet picture. Almost the sweetest of all the pictures I have of the girls to date. Oh my heavens, the sweetness!
