Last summer I did Tot School with Tucker. He loved it. When the school year started for me in August, it took a backseat to life. I hate that I didn’t continue it through the school year, but raising three young kids, working full time, and taking care of a home is a lot of work in itself.
Then Tucker started Parents Day Out and I didn’t feel so bad about not doing educational activities with him daily. Now don’t get me wrong. We still do lots. We read every day. We play lots of games. We use toys that work on motor skills. We color. We talk, a lot, about a lot of different things.
But sometimes it’s just not the same as these planned activities I once did.
So…Tot School is back. & this summer Lilah & Lexie are getting in on the action. Tot School will actually be dedicated more to them this summer and Tucker will do a mixture of Tot School and a mixture of Preschool. With him I plan to focus a lot more on letters and numbers. With the girls it will be more of what he and I did last year…colors, sorting, fine motor skills.
It will be interesting to see how teaching to two different academic levels will go, especially with balancing doing an activity with the girls together (they aren’t always the best at sharing…but I’m hopeful this might help!) with what activity I plan to do with Tucker.
I spent naptime today planning this week. We are going to start with the letter Mm and focus on monsters with a touch of monkeys, mice, and mountains. Check back next week for a full review of Week 1: Letter Mm as I link up again with Carisa at 1+1+1=1.
