A new kind of normal.

You may or may not have noticed that I didn’t do a ‘Momma Fancies’ post this week, nor a ‘Mommy & Me Monday’ post either.

I found this beauty of a saying on Pinterest (yes, you know I love me some Pinterest just like the other 5,492,634 users of Pinterest are) and feel like it fits me to a T this week.

You know, like I am almost all caught up on laundry, have organized the pantry and linen closets, and have been going to bed a decent hour, BUT haven’t blogged since Wednesday really (a few photos here & there don’t really count), haven’t really tweeted since summer, and only get to blog reading maybe once a week. I would have to say that constitutes the fact that I have taken a break from my normal routine.

I’ve decided to blog only a little this week (like my normal What’s Cookin’ Wednesday might not happen, or a few others normals either) but focus more on getting back to blog reading (& commenting). I feel like I am missing out on so much great reading out there because I’ve put it last on my to-do list and don’t get me started on what a bad commenter I’ve been because I’d have to hang my head in shame.

I figure it’s baby steps. Maybe next week I’ll add twitter back in and maybe even a vlog?! I’ve been putting off getting back into a normal routine since school started back and it’s come time. I need to figure out how to balance it all again. It being real-life needs & blog needs on a daily basis.

Do you ever feel like your two worlds are literally worlds apart or does blogging mesh well with your real-world needs? If they do, how do you do it?

It’s nice to take a break every once and a while! Alex works from home some times at night so we try to coordinate the days that he will work and I will blog, so on the off nights- we can spend together. If not, it’s easy to neglect each other. When all else fails, I take a technology break and get back to the basics. It helps to put it all back into prespective and gives me a little inspiration for writing. Unclogs my artistc arteries. 🙂

I think everyone is always looking for this answer, except I don’t think there IS a real answer. You have to do what’s right for you. I’ve been cutting back on time spent on the computer and tweeting from my phone. It’s been a nice break. We all need it sometimes!

I’ve always been amazed by all that you juggle. Perhaps a little break is just what you need. Don’t be so hard on yourself, Momma 🙂

  4. I’ve had to really cut back on my blogging lately too and twitter and everything else.I just can’t do it all and family had to be my priority along with home. I feel a lot better now that I put those things first!

Since my daughter has gone back to school it’s been hard for me to get a new balance of things. It’s okay to blog less if you need to. Take care of yourself.
