Midweek Confessions

  • Was Leap Year as fascinating four years ago as it seems to be this year? I’m pretty sure I didn’t think twice about the extra day pre-facebook & twitter. Did I do anything special to commemorate the extra 24 hours? Nope. A friend even brought up the fact that salaried people actually worked an extra day for no pay when you think about it. Big, fat, great!
  • You know me, the hater of doing laundry? Well, besides tonight (hey, had to celebrate somehow today) I’ve done at least 1-2 loads of laundry every day this week. My washer & dryer are probably a little confused as to whose house they reside in right now.
  • My spring break is in 12 days and I almost didn’t realize it was so close. However, I’m wishing it weren’t so close, because it means there’s just that much more time after spring break until the end of the year. It seems like this school year has gone incredibly fast, but the last part of each school year is usually what d-r-a-g-s.
  • My favorite night time snack lately? Thin stick pretzels dipped in mustard mixed with honey. I’ve had it every night this week, too (either before or after I fold a load of laundry usually).
  • I’ve been a bad blogger lately. Not in the “I’m not blogging” sense or the “I’m not reading other blogs” sense. More like the “I’ve been horrible about commenting even though I’m reading” sense and the “I don’t visit other participants in the link ups I join in unless they visit me” sense. I need to work on this. Promise.

  1. leap days remind me of the Pirates of Penzance musical I did in elementary school – the classic paradox where the lead character is actually only 5 because his birthday fell on a leap year… poor fella.
I’ve been a bad blogger all around – I haven’t been reading, writing or arithmetic’ing… I mean commenting AT ALL lately – even on those who visit and leave shout outs.
This is why I can’t solicit sponsors, I’m unreliable.

Yeah that whole extra day of work for salaried people made me groan a bit. But at least as a teacher I think that means we get one extra day of break!

I totally agree about Leap Day… I honestly don’t even remember it happening four years ago. And this year it was a big deal. Weird! Also… I am totally guilty of the last one too. Trying to be better! (And you’re the lucky recipient!)

    • I don’t remember it four years ago either, but four years from now I could totally see people saying “Last leap year, I…” haha! Thanks for letting me be the lucky recipient of your “trying to be a better blogger” comment…haha!

  4. I think being annoyed by Leap Day is a sign of aging. At least for me!

I’m trying to catch up on a week’s worth of blog posts in my reader. I’m attempting to comment, but I bet by the end I’ll be skimming. It happens 🙂

  6. […] Last week’s confession of me being super on top of laundry? A fluke obviously because this week? I’m super behind again. I really don’t think I’ll ever catch up. […]
