No. Ultimate Blog Party. As in the 2012 Ultimate Blog Party hosted by 5 Minutes for Mom!!!
This is my third year to participate in the Ultimate Blog Party. I stumbled upon it somehow my first year blogging, and last year I made sure to join in the fun. This year? I wouldn’t miss it for anything.
If this is your first time visiting, thanks for stopping by. I’m enjoying myself a nice little margarita while watching Friday Night Lights reruns on Netflix with the hubs right now, so grab a drink & have a seat if you’d like and let me tell you a little bit about us.
I’m Heather. Wife, momma, daughter, sister, teacher, friend, blogger. There are probably a million more titles I could add to that because as any woman knows, we seem to do it all.
I’m a first-year fourth grade teacher, but have been teaching for over six years now. Which means, besides the three kids I have at home calling me mom, I have a heck of a lot more at school.
My hubs, Mike, is a foreman for a local metal framing company and the best dad to our three kids.
Tucker, our first born (which means, he’s always going to be my baby), will be five in October. It amazes me how quickly five years can pass when kids come into the picture.
Tucker is a sweet boy and a great big brother to his two sisters. He goes to school two days a week right now and absolutely loves it (obviously this makes his teacher momma’s heart swell with pride).
He loves Thomas the Train, Spiderman, and playing “pretend”. He’d eat peanut butter & jelly sandwiches for breakfast, lunch, and dinner if you’d let him and the only sweets he really likes is “nummy nilla” ice cream, chocolate chip cookies, and m&m’s.
Lilah Renee, is our strong willed baby a. She and her sister came into this world 11 weeks early, born fighters. She weighed 2 lbs 7 oz at birth and refused to walk until she was 20 months old (it’s that red hair, I tell ya!).
Lilah will also be our class clown one day, I’m sure of that. She loves to make you laugh and can smile through her most “stinkerish” moments. She’s a daddy’s girl through & through.
Lexie Cecile, our easy going baby b. She weighed 2 lbs 12 oz at birth and was the one we never had to really worry about from the start.
Lexie should really be twins with her big brother, because she follows him around like the sun rises & sets with him. Lexie loves the color pink & is a t.v. junkie with her favorite show probably being the almighty Dora.
I started this blog almost two & half years ago, a little after the girls had come home from the NICU. It really was because of them I found blogging. When they were born so early, I scoured the internet constantly for stories like ours. I wanted to know all I could about having 29 weekers & what the road ahead would be like. I found a blog, The Ark Family Blog, that had a similar story to ours & the rest is history.
Today, I blog about our life, the kids, recipes, crafts & sewing, teaching, and so much more. I host reviews & giveaways from time to time and participate in a few different weekly link ups. This blog is my outlet & the blogging community has become some of my dearest friends.
I’ve had twitter friends turn into real life friends, found more families like ours to connect with, had a piece published in a book, and have become “friends” with women I’ve never met. All because of blogging.

I have tried (and failed) the blogging thing in the past and am currently trying my hand at it again. Its a very difficult thing to open up like you do knowing so many people have access to read your words but I’m trying…It is definitely a great outlet sometimes for how you are feeling.

Wow, how do you find the time to do all that? I’m in awe. I taught 3rd grade for ten years; I can’t imagine running my blog while I was teaching. Busy, busy busy!
