We are taking our very first long-distance road trip with all three kids this summer. The girls will be three in July and have never left the state of Florida, mostly because we've not wanted to venture far with three young kids in tow until now. We'll be leaving for Tennessee next weekend to stay a week at my in-laws house in middle Tennessee and lucky for us, planning this trip is easy because it somewhere we've already been.
If we were to be going somewhere new, I'm not really sure how I'd plan a road trip for our family of five because there are so many unexpected things that we could encounter. However, if we were headed to the great state of Pennsylvania planning a road trip would be "easy peasy" as my students say.
pa-roadtrips offers an awesome tool called Roadtrip-A-Matic to help you with all your vacation planning needs. Their slogan, "We did the planning. You do the packing." really assures you that taking a trip to Pennsylvania can be as carefree as a vacation can possibly be. There are 16 pre-planned road trips with each centering around a certain theme. Some of the ones that jumped out at me were Kidsylvania, Taste Buds on Tour, and Small Town Charmy.
Kidsylvania would be the perfect trip to take when the kids are all just a few years older. It offers plans for Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and the Alleghenies. When you click on each city, there is a printable PDF itinerary that breaks that part of your trip down to day by day schedules with places to see, eat, and sleep. Links to local museums and other attractions are given as well.
Planning a trip this summer? Think about heading to Pennsylvania and take advantage of this great roadtrips planning tool! Which Roadtrip-A-Matic package would you love to make a reality?
