Our kitchen is a big work in progress. We’ve been doing some major changes in there over the last few months and still have a lot more to go. You can see a huge difference (in paint color alone) from my first time participating in SUYL. I really am glad we’ve done all that we have so far, especially with how much it has lightened this room up.

These pictures below are even a few changes since the pictures above were taken. Last weekend I went crazy with a to-do list and Mike finally finished up the alcove part above the pantry door. My favorite part of the kitchen right now actually! In the other picture you’ll notice the hanging tins from Ikea. Love those things!

Wondering what’s next on our kitchen make-over? Painting the cabinets & doing some sort of new countertop! We plan to add trim to the top of the cabinets before I paint them, in order to get a more custom look. I still haven’t decided 100% on a color but am leaning towards a grayish blue or something creamy. We’ve also considered doing two-tone, where the bottoms are a darker color than the top. Something like this:
