Last week, I saw something on Instagram that gave me an idea. With it being summer, and me trying to keep the kids occupied day in and day out, these would be perfect. I checked Jenny’s blog to see if she had blogged about this project, and she hadn’t, but I found a few other great ideas while there. Be sure to head on over and check her out.
Everything you need for this project, you should be able to find at home. I just had to save toilet paper rolls for a few days (my family goes through toilet paper like nothin’ so it didn’t take long!). Once you’ve got enough rolls for how many kids you have, cover them in scrapbook paper, I just used tape to cover them. I then used blue painters tape (I wanted a little bit stronger tape for this part than scotch tape) to tape two rolls together. I was going to hole punch each side to put the ribbon through and tie, but I couldn’t find my hole punchers, so I just taped the ribbon on as well.
Finally, I opened up Microsoft Word and started creating my scavenger hunt sheet. I made this for an indoor hunt, seeing as it can get so hot outside in the summer. The kids absolutely loved it, Tucker especially. I figure I will make another sheet for outside and we can do it in the evening when it’s a bit cooler.
