Homemade Dryer Sheets

Yesterday I shared the recipe for homemade fabric softener. Today, using leftovers from that HUGE batch of fabric softener, you can make “dryer sheets” as well.

homemade dryer sheetsDryer sheets are probably what I buy & use the least when it comes to laundry. It’s just one of those “extras”, you know, something you don’t NEED in order to have clean clothes. I like having this recipe, because it is super easy & makes having dryer sheets available to me when I normally might not have them.

What you need? 3 cups water, 1 cup homemade fabric softener, 1 sponge, 1 pretty jar (again, gotta love Ikea).

What you need to do? Mix the water & fabric softener together in a large bowl (using a whisk, again) until well blended. Pour into your jar, drop in your sponge, and you are done. When you are ready to throw a load in the dryer, just squeeze the sponge out so it is damp and throw in the dryer. Isn’t that super simple?!

Price breakdown? Less than $1.65, the cost of the sponge was $0.96 and by using a cup of the already made homemade fabric softener you are using just dimes worth I’m sure. & this stuff will last a long time.
