Tucker’s 5th Birthday

I can’t believe it’s been almost a month since my sweet little boy turned five (and that I’ve had that long to blog about it and am just now getting around to it. October was a busy month for us).

We are at the point with the kids where we are over the BIG birthdays where you invite everyone & their brother. Just like we did for the girls this year, we celebrated Tucker’s birthday with my parents & Mike’s parents and the kids aunts & uncles & cousins. It was perfect.

Halloween themed birthday party

Since Tucker’s birthday is in October, I’ve been wanting to do a Halloween themed party. We made mummy dogs & pumpkin face burgers. My mom made the pumpkin rice crispie treats & I made ghost chocolate covered pretzels. It was easy to decorate the house since my Halloween decorations were already up, I just added a little more before he got home (Oh, did I forget to mention this was a surprise party? More on that in a minute) and we were good to go.

Tucker turns 5!

Leading up to Tucker’s birthday, he kept asking, where am I going to have my party? I kept telling him I wasn’t sure, that Mike and I were still deciding. They day of his birthday, he told my mom, “Today is my birthday, you know. I really should open a present on my birthday. Mom said she and daddy are still thinking about where to have my party though, but today is my real birthday.”

Since it was a Thursday, he normally does speech with my mother-in-law, so we had her still pick him up and take him for his speech class and just told her to bring him home a little later than usual so that everyone had time to get to the house for dinner.

When he walked in, he was so surprised and loved that he was getting his party!

5th Birthday

He was one happy birthday boy. Oh, & because he turned five, mom & dad decided to get him his very first pet. Stay tuned to see what it is…
