Covering our bases: Life Insurance.

Go to school. Get a job. Get married. Buy a house. Have a kid or two. Life happily ever after.

That pretty much sums up the all-American family you think of. We are that all-American family, pretty cookie-cutter for most aspects if you ask me.

Not long after Mike & I got married, we went from renting a town-house to renting a house & switched insurance companies at that time, which led us to buying life insurance. I think we might have been expecting Tucker around then & were talked into a term life insurance policy that would cover Mike or myself and any expenses that would need to be taken care of in case of the unexpected (I really hate talking about death, but it is a fact of life).

We’ve been paying that same life-insurance policy for almost seven years now & at one point we beefed it up a little bit more (I guess that’s what you do when you end up getting pregnant with twins before your first kid is even two). As much as I hate to think of the inevitable, I feel at peace knowing Mike, or myself, or the kids would be taken care of if something were to happen. Or at least taken care of enough.
