Whirlwind weekend recap.

To say the least, this weekend was crazy busy but in the best way.

We started it off Friday night celebrating Tucker turning six. We had dinner at my parent’s house. Hot dogs & hamburgers on the grill, the ultimate Gator cake for the Ultimate Gator fab birthday boy, and lots of presents, too. Tucker was in heaven and went to bed as the happiest six year old, I’m sure.

Then on Saturday, we woke up bright an early and headed to Jacksonville to watch one of our oldest high school friends get married. We left the kids with my brother & sister-in-law (with a fridge stocked full of food to keep the three little piggies happy all weekend) and enjoyed our weekend away. The wedding was last night and gorgeous. It was right on the St. John’s River, outdoors in weather that couldn’t have been better for October in Florida. We enjoyed drinking & dancing & spending time with old friends. Mike passed out 2.5 seconds after his head hit the pillow that night.

& then today we slept in (probably the best thing about a weekend away from the kids is the amount of solid sleep you can get! Although, Lilah, who is normally up at 5 am, slept until 6:30 for Uncle Alex & Aunt Tricia…no fair!) before heading to St. Augustine to meet up with my cousin, her husband, their new baby, and our relatives from Texas. Angela & Brian got married in St. Augustine when the girls were just babies, so it was fun to be back in that same location meeting their sweet baby girl now. After a nice lunch & a little shopping on St. George Street we headed home to our three crazy kiddos. Everyone survived the weekend and I’m pretty sure they had just as good a weekend with Alex & Tricia as we did on our little getaway.

What a fun weekend! I’m so sad to see it go.
