It’s so hard to pinpoint just one lesson that life has taught me. Especially when I feel like I’m in the prime of mine, or at least I hope so. But because of that, there is something I feel like I have learned.
I’ve learned that life doesn’t always happen the way you planned it out in your head or how you’ve scheduled it down on paper but no matter what, life happens. & sometimes, the things that happen in your life, turn out better than what you planned.
Most of this I feel started to show itself to me when I was pregnant with Tucker and my pregnancy got turned upside down when he came a month early after I had already been on bedrest for a month. Had I planned my first pregnancy to go like that? No. But it did & in the end everything turned out perfectly. As a matter of fact, my dad’s some of my dad’s first words after laying his eyes on Tucker were, “how can you have any more babies when you hit perfection with this one?”
When I found out I was pregnant with twins? Yes, another thing that was not part of my life plan.
& then, when the girls were born 11 weeks early and we struggled through 48 days of living life in limbo while we waited for them to come home & make our family complete. Nope, not part of my plan either. But it happened & we did it and in the end? All was fine and we were stronger people because of it.
Now, we haven’t had as many bumps in the road of life in the last few years but with becoming parents of kids (yes, my children are kids now, not babies anymore) you quickly learn that life moves in all directions but the one you are going, and faster than you can usually move, too. Life happens no matter what.
