When I think about the moments in my life, the big & the small, I think I can definitely say my tallies weigh heavier on the happy side than any other.
But it’s hard to pinpoint an exact “happiest moment”.
The big moments are easy to come to mind, like the day I got my drivers license, & the day I got accepted to college. Then the day I graduated high school & the day I graduated college for sure. My very first day as a teacher. & the day I said “I do”. My honeymoon. And I will never in my life forget the day I became a mother. Definitely the day we brought the girls home from the NICU and finally became our family of five. The day Lilah graduated out of physical therapy. & the day my baby boy started reading. Oh, and I know the day Lexie gets this stinky ol’ cast off her arm will surely be a happy one.
But there are so many small moments in between that make me just as happy. A quiet weekend morning when Mike and I lay in bed next to each other as we listen to all three kids getting along. Our Friday night family movie nights with pizza and couch sharing. A hot cup of coffee on a chilly day. Or the feeling I get when I walk through the door to our little home each afternoon after a long day at work.
Those are all happy moments, too.
It reminds me of that quote about enjoying all the little moments in life because those are the ones you’ll look back on one day and realize were really the big ones.
