On Sunday, we took our time getting ready and headed to the main house of our B&B for breakfast before checking out. After breakfast the kids wanted to play some more on the great wooden playground in Mount Dora and we eventually strolled through the town, stopping in a few of the stores that were actually open on Sunday morning and having lunch at a really great local pizza place before heading out of town.
Our next stop was the Christmas tree farm we had visited back in October (for pumpkins). Mike hadn’t been able to go with us then because of work, and we knew we wanted to see it again all decked out for Christmas with him in tow. We had plans to pick out an itty bitty tree for the playroom, but decided against it when we saw how busy it was & how much a tiny tree (anything under 10-ft was $35 and I honestly wanted a two foot tree!) would cost.
Lexie loved being at the tree farm this time because she could finally do all the fun things, last time she had her cast on & couldn’t do much of anything. She LOVED the bounce pillow (and was hilarious when she first got on it) and I was shocked when all three (yes, even Lilah!) did the zip line! They all also loved riding the ponies & horses.
Our last & final stop of the weekend was to the Tavares Orange Blossom Cannonball Express for their Christmas Express train ride. This part of the weekend was a surprise to the kids. Tucker LOVES trains (he actually wants to be a train conductor when he grows up, or at least that is what he’s told us for a few years now) and has been wanting to ride a real train for forever. When we pulled up, the train was just returning from the trip before ours and the kids were ecstatic! It was a really cute ride and the kids were tickled by it all and I loved watching the excitement in their faces.
It was a busy weekend, and we were exhausted by the time we got home Sunday night. But we are already planning next year’s visit.
