Happy 2014!

DSC_0177Last night, none of us made it to midnight. Good thing we started our new years eve celebrations early in the evening.

We had a fire going outside in our fire pit, yummy food to eat inside, and we watched Mr. Popper’s Penguins for the third or fourth time. The kids got fancy glasses with fancy drinks (sparkling cider for the win) and we made funnel cakes in our pjs for dessert. This year we started a new tradition of goal setting together. I asked each of the kids to make a goal or two (we ha to help the girls a little with this but Tucker was great at coming up with his own) for the year, Mike and I did the same, and then after they went to bed we set some goals together for our family.

It was our kind of new years eve & I wouldn’t trade it for all the glamorous parties, sequined tops, or rounds of alcohol that most people have for their new years eve celebrations (okay, maybe next year the girls & I will ad a little sequins to our fun).

Happy 2014, here’s the a year filled with joy in every moment!
