More firsts in #ourforeverfloridahome

It’s finally that time of year. The holidays are here, well, they’ve been here for some time. I shared with you what Christmas looks like in our new home a few weeks back. A few things have been added since then, a few things moved, just figuring out where I want everything.

What I really can’t wait for though are the firsts that will take place over the next few days in this new home. The first time we put on our Christmas pajamas (the kids get them every year, and sometimes Mike and I get some new ones, too. I forgot to buy us some this year and I finished the last of my shopping earlier today. I have no plans to go anywhere near a store in the next 48+ hours so it looks like old jammies for the two of us this year). I can’t wait to tuck the kids in on Christmas eve, for the first time in this house. Waking up on Christmas morning and opening presents under the Christmas tree and welcoming family to our home is another first I’m looking forward to.

I cleaned the house from top to bottom this morning. Mike helped and so did the kids. We went through their rooms, a tradition of ours, searching for toys we can donate to some boys & girls in need. We are ready for the next few days, to say the least.

This Christmas is a little different than others though because we’ll be heading out bright and early the day after to drive down to Siesta Key for my cousin’s wedding. They are from Michigan and decided to have a beach wedding, this December couldn’t be any more perfect for it with the weather we’ve been having lately.

So, from our family to yours, here’s to a Merry Christmas filled with love & joy and anything else you’ve been wishing for!

Instagram Families & a little #wiww

So my friend at work showed me this video yesterday and I about died from laughing at it.

How true is that? Be honest, you know that is you. But really, it should be called Instagram Families, especially if you’re a momma like me, who even ropes your kids into taking pictures of you.

Case in point. This morning I wore this new romper, purchased this weekend from a new boutique in town. So, of course, I had to share it will all my Insta-friends, especially since it falls on #wiww. Who became my photographer? First kid done getting ready this morning was the winner, Tucker.

So this is the shot I ended up with, cropped just right, filters added & all its finished glory (& now that I look at it on here I realize it’s a bit blurry. Most likely repercussions from having an eight year old take my picture).

The outtakes? Pretty priceless.

So there you have it. Instagram Families is totally a thing.

[First] Christmas in #ourforeverflorida home

I share our home with you every year at Christmas. Heck, I share it multiple times a year. This year is a little different than the last five years though, because it’s our first one in #ourforeverfloridahome.

I’m still figuring out where to put things, and what areas I need to buy a little more Christmas for. Also, our kitchen. Barely decorated. Our kitchen in the old house was probably my favorite part of Christmas decorating and this one? Not so much. That’s only because the kitchen has had very little done to it since moving in. It’s actually the first big project I want us to tackle in the new year. Kitchen reno, here we come.

Life lately.

There is so much to share. Mostly because I’ve been so absent from here. I really did try my best to get some posts up here and there over the last few months, but obviously getting that to be a regular thing just hasn’t happened. Right now I’ve got some time to write because I’mContinue Reading

Halloween with bigger kids.

Not quite BIG kids yet, but bigger. At first, when they became old enough to pick out their own costumes, I would cringe a little bit. Gone were the days I was able to dress them in whatever outfits I wanted. Gone were the days I was able to dress them up as a trio,Continue Reading

Parenting, hardest gig you’ll ever have.

I remember when the girls were just babies, someone I know told me that it only gets harder as the kids get older. That the baby years may seem hard but you just don’t know what is coming. Man, can I attest to that now. Oh how I wish I could go back to the sleepless nightsContinue Reading

Week 21-ish in #ourforeverfloridahome

The holidays are coming (what what!?) and I figured it was time for an update. Our first set of holidays in our new home, our forever home. Bringing old traditions into this new house, making new traditions and new memories. Ones that will last a lifetime. We haven’t done any projects since everything we didContinue Reading

First day of school: 2015

Another summer over and another first day of school in the books. First week of school really, since it’s taken me that long to get this post together. Want even more icing on the cake? We’ve already had our first case of the sickies…Lilah stayed home from school today! This year, Tucker’s in 2nd gradeContinue Reading

Officially official.

I’m not sure how long this quote will hold true for me, but for now it is. If you had told me two years ago that today I’d be NOT starting another school year this year, I wouldn’t have believed you. This year though, it’s official. My resignation was ratified at one of the lastContinue Reading
