Valentines Day Ideas & More.

With a couple of holidays coming up in February (I say that because Mike’s birthday is on Groundhog’s Day & he expects us to celebrate it & his birthday. He really thinks people should be putting inflatable groundhogs in their yard like they do snowmen at Christmas) I thought I’d share some fun things we’ve done in the past while I figure out what new things we’ll do this year still.

Show us your life: Pinterest Love.

I haven’t participated in one of Kelly’s Korner SUYL posts in quite some time (I think the last time I participated was probably when I shared our Christmas decorations) but when I saw her post today, I figured why not.

If you are anything like me, you already know my love for Pinterest because you have the same love. Most of us bloggers do. When I saw the actual SUYL this month is titled, “Show us your Favorite Pinterest Ideas” I realized I just need to do this.

Yup, that there is a link to my Pinterest account, because honestly, anything I pin is a favorite, whether I’ve tried it or not.

Want to see some of the posts I’ve written with either Pinterest inspiration, a Pinterest project or recipe I’ve tried, or something I did of my own that I thought was Pinterest worthy? Click here.

& honestly, I cannot pin down one thing, let a lone a list of things, that are my favorite. I use Pinterest for fashion advice, recipe ideas, project inspiration, classroom ideas, and so much more. What is your favorite thing about it?!

They grow.

Last weekend we spent it doing projects around the house. You know me, I love a good project & I love roping my husband into doing them with me. He always ends up loving the outcome, even if he doesn’t love the process.

These giant ruler growth charts have been floating around Pinterest for as long as I can remember. I know I pinned one many moons ago. After buying that dresser & redoing it for the dining room, I had the perfect spot to finally add one to our house.

Tucker loves asking us (almost daily) how tall he is. He thinks because the girls around just over three feet tall & are three years old, that he’s suppose to be at the five. Ha!

I changed out the wall art as well. I am not loving the cheap poster frames I bought at Christmas, so I’m going to keep my eye out for some good frames to replace these. I think it will really make the wall art pop & reduce the glare (since these are just plastic). I LOVE the first print but I’m not in love with the last print but it works until I find something better.

I love how this space has turned out. The lampshade is new, I bought it at Lowes last weekend with a gift card I found in my desk drawer. I’m still not quite sure what I’ll do with the top of the dresser, for now I’ve just put a few odds & ends to fill it up a little.

WIWW: Fall Edition.

I can just barely say this is the fall edition, seeing as my house is decked out in Christmas from head to toe door to door, it almost seems wrong to even mention the F word. I tried to use Pinterest again this week to help style a few of my outfits as of late.Continue Reading

Homemade facial or baby wipes

Man, I wish I had found this recipe back when we used baby wipes like they were going out of style. I honestly think we should have taken stock in wipes (we totally used way more wipes than we used diapers when the kids were babies). Those things are miracle workers, I tell ya. TheseContinue Reading

Homemade Dryer Sheets

Yesterday I shared the recipe for homemade fabric softener. Today, using leftovers from that HUGE batch of fabric softener, you can make “dryer sheets” as well. Dryer sheets are probably what I buy & use the least when it comes to laundry. It’s just one of those “extras”, you know, something you don’t NEED inContinue Reading

Homemade Fabric Softener

Next up on the homemade list? Fabric Softener. What you need? 6 cups water, 2 cups conditioner, 3 cups vinegar, another pretty bottle (mine, again from Ikea). I would actually cut this batch in half next time, it makes a TON of fabric softener. What you need to do? In a large bowl, whisk togetherContinue Reading

Homemade Laundry Detergent

First up on my list of made at home products? Homemade laundry detergent. This was actually the first thing I saw on Pinterest that I wanted to make at home. Why you ask? Simply to have a cute glass jar with pretty white powder in it sitting in my laundry room. Too bad my laundryContinue Reading

Making it at home.

For a while now, I’ve been wanting to make a few store bought things at home instead. Pinterest will get you every time. Recipes for homemade laundry detergent, fabric softener, hair treatments, face wash, etc. The list goes one & on. I’m sure I’ve pinned quite a few, but it wasn’t until a blogger IContinue Reading
